Abstract:

In this talk, we will review the concept of parametric likelihood and the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE), and will introduce the concept of nonparametric likelihood (called empirical likelihood) and the nonparametric MLE. Some results on nonparametric likelihood with various types of censored data will be discussed. As an example, some related new statistical methods on the logistic regression model with censored data will be presented.
